A nonprofit organization founded by U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush was given $1 million to create a technology center in Englewood. More than a decade later, the money’s gone, and there’s no technology center, an investigation by the Better Government Association and the Chicago Sun-Times found. The building, meanwhile, that was supposed to be the tech center and was purchased with a federal grant, wound up being sold to a church that Rush founded – a transaction that Rush denies is a sweetheart deal.
