Willson Contreras was Jon Lester’s catcher this season until he was injured. On Saturday, manager Joe Maddon matched up Rene Rivera with Lester so the veteran catcher could get a feel for the lefty. Maddon most likely didn’t expect Rivera to help his pitcher out at the plate the way he did.
