The Woodridge Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1578 held a flag retirement ceremony at the Hawthorne Hill Woods, in Woodridge, Il., Monday, June 14, 2010. The retirement ceremony consisted of respectfully cutting out the stars from the stripes and then tossing them into the open flame. Over 900 flags were retired that day.
