A resident was treated for smoke inhalation and minor burns after a fire early Saturday morning at a duplex-style home in Elgin.

At 4:08 a.m., members of the Elgin Fire Department responded to the 2100 block of Vernon Drive for a report of smoke coming from a home with a female screaming for help.
