Police: Man shot to death in East Side neighborhood

A 24-year-old man was fatally shot Sunday night in the East Side neighborhood on the Far South Side, police said.

He was standing in a vacant lot about 8:15 p.m. in the 10700 block of South Green Bay when he was approached by two males who fired shots at him and ran off, Chicago Police said.

He suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his chest, arm and hand, and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, police said. He was later pronounced dead.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not confirmed the death.

Area South detectives were investigating.
